This is a job that is easy or difficult but you need to be careful you dont damage the sender unit. Mine came out dead easy but was a complete pig to get back in. Pauls was in and out in a flash. Try and not disturb the breathers.

Yes straps to be all shiny and new, but want to check around it for rust. Also need to weld near the filler so its two birds one stone.

Mine was a very tight fit so as SP says tie all cables and pipes well out the way. As you are looking up at it, Pull down the LHS and pull forward. Now its the interesting bit where you have to maneuver it past the pipes and cables. I found the F and the C word helped immeasurably through this period. Reverse to fit. I replaced all breathers and stuck the protective felt back down as well as a complete refurb to the area above the tank. All worth doing when its out as you dont want to be going back up there.
Tip- when you take off the gearbox mounts (to chassis) be careful with the bolts. If you have an airline blow out the chassis and soak the area overnight especially the bolt that holds the earth strap (mine snapped on the way out)
Hopefully you'll save the time I spent with the drill and stud extractor.
Was going to post a pic but not mastered that just yet....black belt in tank straps tho
