Good stuff. Although I don't have a rev counter I like the look of these bad boys.

Right, just been sent these pics of the finished articles just after they left the production line.
They are all ready and will be shipped tomorrow. Should be with me within a week.

Al,
Is there a set for petrol rev counter as well or just diesel version? If so I'm up for a set too, assuming you can get the needles to glow
Oh and instructions for idiots to follow!
Thanks, Mark.

Re: Plasma gauge - Kph to Mph backlight style dial faces
Neil - I'm going to add a new post with a full breakdown of the kit etc as soon as I've got it all together and looked into postage costs etc. I'll release an official price then, but it'll be about £85 or there abouts.
This first run are diesel versions for vans with speedo and rev counter.
(Can anyone answer how the petrol rev counter differs from a diesel one?)
Dai - no problem mate!

Re: Plasma gauge - Kph to Mph backlight style dial faces
Thanks for the pics Dai, looks like there's an extra 1000rpm on the petrol rev counter.
Do any of you petrol lot ever take your revs high enough to need the 7000rpm?
I'm asking because if you don't need the extra 1000rpm you could use the diesel version and adjust the pot on the back of the rev counter to make it read correctly.
Alternatively, I could ask the manufacturer if they would sell me a bunch of petrol rev counter units as they already make them, but they don't have the orange and green markings on them, they are just black faced with red charachters at the redline.

Re: Plasma gauge - Kph to Mph backlight style dial faces
Al,
Just checked my petrol rev counter and it only goes to 6000 the same as your diesel one, the only difference I can see is that the red part is further round, starting at 5200.
Maybe that's the only difference, could they paint it the same or is it too much trouble?
Any chance of more pictures of the switch and wiring?
Regards, Mark.

Re: Plasma gauge - Kph to Mph backlight style dial faces
The plot thickens....
Maybe there's different tachos for 1.9 and 2.1 petrols?
Anyway, at this point in time I will only be providing the kits in the pictures. The cost of producing every permutation of T3 dash clocks is far too cost prohibitive to do in one go. If these ones sell well then I might look at getting some petrol specific ones made up.

Re: Plasma gauge - Kph to Mph backlight style dial faces
I prefer the the black rev counter with just the red bit to the multi-coloured version.
Just thought I'd share that as I wouldn't rip my analogue clock out anyway - my eye sight's so cr@p it's the only way I can tell the time while driving.

Al the picture i sent you is a rev counter altered for the subaru conversion, the genuine VW one goes up to 6000 for both petrol and deisel variants, the only difference,as Mark says,is the red section.
the ones you have are ok for me
sorry for the confusion

Re: Plasma gauge - Kph to Mph backlight style dial faces
Ah...gotcha! Thanks Dai, glad you're happy with them as is.
If people can live with the redline starting at a different point on the rev counter then ideal. I will ask the manufacturers about getting some without the green and orange graphics for those that would prefer, this shouldn't be too much trouble as they are already tooled up for those.
Whilst we are on the subject, do petrol speedos differ? Higher mph or something?
If this all goes well then I'll do my best cover all bases including clock rather than rev counter etc...
