Puddles...

Post by Drew »

... in the passenger footwell.

Now, I assumed that it was rot around the windscreen but on reflection, they only happen when I'm moving and not when it's parked.

Could the rain be going through the grille maybe?

It is more likely it is coming through the front windscreen, it sits nicely in the bottom corners and in the rubbers until you move and then it spills over and into the front of the footwell. This happened with mine too, the bottom corners of the metal work can quietly rot and if you gently peel back the rubber you may be able to see it.
Some get the screen removed, repair the metal work and replace the screen with a new rubber, the old ones get brittle.
I cleaned out the old sealant under the rubber and wodged some new sealant in all the way round, its messy and not ideal but it worked!
Me!

I think mine's coming from the grille for sure.

I'm going to chuck a bucket of water at it when I get home and see what happens (apart from it rusting a bit more).
