raer 3 point seat belt in autosleeper van

Post by ndrom03 »

Hi,
Has anybody fitted or know how to fit a 3 point seat belt to a 1990 autosleeper van. I think my van started out as a panel van so not sure if any points were factory fitted or not? Any help would be great as I've just had to pay out for a complete new exhaust system, so not a lot of money left in the bank now!

pity as you'll need some to fit the seat belts.

Top anchor points not factory fitted to panel vans
there's a kit available from Brickwerks that requires some drilling and spannering

I'm in the middle of fitting mine. Would have been done today but Brickwerks forgot to send me one of the parts. I,ve bought the seat belt in the picture in the thread. I have a converted pannel van too. All the anchor points are shown by little dimples in the surface of the metal. The top points you will have to go through the rear air vents to fix the spreader plate (for extra safety). The bottom points are on the sloped part of the floor. i have a friend who is a metal smith and he adviced there is no requirement to weld in a spreader plate, i have however bought a small plate from brickwerks (71p) that the bolt screw straight in to and had a plate of 4mm steel cut to 10cm x 10cm .
Drill the holes through the centre of the big plate and the van then screw the bolt in to the small plate which will secure solid to the frame of the van. Hope this helps you.
