how do the fibre glass bodykits off ebay fit?

do you need to remove brackets from old bumpers and glass or fix them to inside of new bumper?

If it's the euro style kit they're a pretty heavy moulding. I fixed mine using the 2 original mounts, lots of careful measuring etc. drill holes and fix with original bolts and plastic caps. The sections that run under the doors I've fixed with rivnuts and stainless bolts and covered all drilled holes with loads of Waxoyl. The door pods have to be bonded on with some form of sticky stuff(yet to find the techy term for this). Rear bumper is much the same.

Ben
No photos from mine yet as I've not got to the door bits, they're still looking at me waiting to be painted like the bumpers.

Lower air drag, more downforce?

Reduces sprung weight (of your wallet)

I was unlucky enough to buy a set off these from ebay when they first came on. I've just spent the day at the bodyshop trying t fit them and have to say please dont waste your money . The front bumper sort of fits but the rear bumper needs cut in three places to get it any where near fitting. I left the bodyshop today gutted. I told them to do the best they can with the "pooh" I had and that I will be changeing them as soon as i find some decent one's to fit. If iI could leave the guy negative feedback I would but its to late so please dont buy them put the money towards some decent ones. Maybe that way you wont be as gutted as I was when I left the bodyshop. My vans in for a full paintjob and I all ready know when it comes back im not going to be happy.

What about the kits from Elite Body Styling? Anyone had experience of these?

The bloke where I am going to get my respray done said he wouldnt touch any kit as they hardly ever fit in his experience.

Still tempted though.

Ive just had the guy from the bodyshop on the phone today saying tha the front door pods will not go on with out catching and in his apinion will look "pooh". I've managed to get a hold of VW front door pods but cant tell you enough not to waste your money. I was really looking forward to getting my van back but am now dreading it. I would just like to thank the ebay "ships Anchor" who is selling these under two differnt names and since I own a sign writing company will be putting a big banner on my van at every show saying how "pooh" these kits are.
