Camping over Christmas and new years

Post by el sketcho »

Can anyone recommend a good campsite over this period. The only essentials are
1- must have a pub within walking distance
2- good walks for dogs
3- tv reception (for the wife)

we were looking around the lake district as we could go upto my mums in Lincolnshire then drive over the day after boxing day.

On their website it says they are only open till the 23rd of November. Looks lovely though.

We have spent New Years Eves at the National Trust sites at Landale and Wasdale. Can't comment on the TV reception though - not really why we went there.

We stopped there last New Year.Nice bar with real fire, excellent facilities and, if you walk to the top of the site brill views over Ullswater.Nice walk from there to Aira Force waterfalls.
Just a bit on the pricey side but theres not a great deal open in the lakes at that time of year, the only other one around that area I know of is at Brothers Water.
