however lining the marks up on the top of the distributor, leaves the vacuum unit on the new distributor under the airbox and subsequently not fitting.
Haynes says about lining up the notch on the pulley wheel to "0" which gives TDC on cylinder 1
however i'm having trouble locating the notch on the pulley
i've removed the fan grill and can make out the timing mark scale, but don't seem to be able to find the "notch"
is it on the front of the wheel, side or where and what does it look like. I can't feel it either as i'm a bit relutant to start moving the engine blindly
Help! the vans on the drive in bits....
oh, and the local RAC man, that helps on "the side", doesn't do old cars
