Re: nipples help me peeps
easy out tool
look similar to this but come in a smaller size for your job
simply screw it in the drilled hole and keep turning till it pops the slug out

Buy some new nipples, (you are going to need them anyway), then you can measure the thread diameter and pitch. This will tell you what tap you will need, and as for a drill size, should be just a tad smaller than the root diameter of the male thread of the nipple I would have thought. (i.e a bit smaller than the crest diameter of the female thread).
I wonder if they are taper thread?
Easy outs?
Well you may be lucky, but as they bite into the remnants of the old nipples they may tend to expand and jam what remains into the female threads of the caliper, and fail to have the desired effect.
If I were drilling, it would be either with the caliper correctly mounted in a drill press, or gently with a hand brace. (Remember them?)

Re: nipples help me peeps
cheers people I have tried easy outs before and allthough good on larger threads they are tosh on little jobs.
I think its got to be the drill out method
what really bugs me is that i did all the penetrating oil and gently wiggling the nipples but they just didnt want to budge without shearing oh well drillings cheaper than new calipers.
If i use some copper grease on them when i refit will it react with the brake fluid?
cheers doug
