Filters - fuel and air

Post by yellowp »

folks

sorry to be so dumb, but a couple of questions for a 2.0 a/c CU engine;

i) The fuel filter ... if I undo the clips on the line and take the filter out, is it going to p*** petrol everywhere and if so, what's a good strategy for stopping that happening (apart from doing it bleedin' quick !)

ii) Air filter - tried for ages to get those mountings off each of the carbs with no success; is there a trick, or even a safe place to start levering ?

thanks in advance ... bit stoppid with engines but happy to learn :roll:

for fuel filters i use a simple principle

a) be quick
b) shove a bolt of same size as fuel hose down it as a temp stopper

thanks gti mad man,

I've used that technique many a time on my scooters ... an M8 bolt is your best M8 in those circumstances !

Anyone got any tips for the air filter housing removal ?

cheers ... yp
