t25 Bluestar Central locking

Post by dancingcrane »

Hi

Anyone got any experience fixing central locking on a t3?

It was all working fine until the other day the front passenger door won't allow me to unlock or lock- when i try locking or opening the doors from that side, it goes ok but immediately retruns to its starting position...

Any advice appreciated...

Thanks

I had this, i checked all the wiing - fine, took the motor stripped n rebuilt it 3 times n never got it fixed so bought a new motor in the end that sussed it. Try looking under 'door & lock' on ebay.com (usa) and under vanagon, picked mine up for $10..

This happens to mine occasionally.

Assuming it is original and not aftermarket.
The motor housing contains a sliding contact, that touches a copper bar sitting on small springs, dirt rust and wear takes its toll.
The two front door units contain switches to make the other doors lock, but each unit has a switch to make sure that once moving the motor runs until it reaches the fully locked or unlocked position.

Strip the unit down and see what is happening.
Also try a search on here as this problem crops up from time to time.
