raleigh motovilla awning

Post by rudderboy »

I've acquired a second hand awning but it came without instructions and managed to work out how the poles go together, but I'm struggling to work out how awning joins to the van - I'm assuming the elastic bungee lengths sewn into the awning are involved but its defeated me. Anyone got one of these and able to describe how it works. Ta.

Can't say that I've ever heard of this awning but you might get more reponses if you'd put this in the campers section. There's a stickied post at the top of that forum which contains a link to some awning faq's, have a look at faq no. 3, maybe that will give you some clues?

Otherwise, post some photos of the awning, especially the side that should fasten to the van.

Welcome to the forum by the way! :)

If its anything like this one, it looks like it has a length of beaded tape (caravan tape or awning tape I think it's called?) on the panel that fixes to the van.

The beaded edge attaches to the van by using lengths of plastic fig.8 channel which attach to the edge of the gutter on the van (or into an awning rail which has a C profile, if you use Outdoor Revolution's drive away kit).
