Rack to carry moped

Post by meggles »

I have posted in wanted and posted on ebay but got nowhere! :( . What I need is to carry my moped on the back of my van. It has a swan neck tow bar. Has anyone been able to get one or make a carry rack? I have welding equipment and skills. Just need some prompts and ideas. Better still a ready made rack!!!
Thanks
BTW, thanks for all replies so far but none of the suppliers do one for a swan neck towbar.

I cant for the life of me work out how you would attach one to a swan neck towbar - it would just twist around surely.

Thats probly why no one makes one.

Suppose you could weld a wacking great big bar to it and make one similiar to dave cooper does.

Firm called BakRak do a swan-neck adapter, it clamps onto the ball (very clever patented clam-shell device, locks with a single bolt and is tested to 600KG limit  so will easily take the load ) With this adapter you can mount any normal 2-bolt towball fitting to it and it then works as it`s supposed to. I`ve got one on my Westy swan-neck towbar, along with a Dave Cooper scooter rack mounted to it, works fine and still comes in under the towbar max load limit of 100KG

www.bak-rak.com

Look for the swan-neck convertor, costs about £30, ring `em up and order, as their online shop doesn`t work properly, which I`ve told `em about in numerous phone calls :? Took me a few calls to get one delivered, don`t know why, they don`t seem right well organised, but the product is the dogs :)
Keep it real.

Thanks for that Joker and Ringo. Knew there'd be something! :D Too late for this weekend but I'll ring them when I get back later in the week. Suppose it'll have to be the push bike for now! :(

Yes Ginge, BakRak for the adapter, and Dave Cooper for the scooter rack :)
Don`t tell Cooper you`re putting his rack onto an adapter to fit it to a swan-neck, or he`ll get a bit funny :?
