it goes to show how unfriendly towards tourism this country CAN be.

Was the threat of travellers amassing on any bit of land, car park etc really as bad as the media made out in the late 80's early 90's??? Or is it just a general tightness going on?

Having seen a traveller woman defacate openly in the window of the former Kennings showroom on Sheffield Road in Chesterfield (now the Donkey Derby pub/eatery opposit Netto's) with shoppers, including me, at Iceland straight opposite and seeing the destruction of an empty garage forecourt. It was disgusting by any standards.

No wish to offend, just saying what I saw.
