Westy Lpg tank refilling help please!

Hello all,

I have been using my westy all summer and have just got to around 30% gas left in the tank,

I got the van with a full tank of gas.

I went to fill it up for the first time at a local station, screwed in the adapters from gassue and connected the pipe, held the button and gas just shot out. The lady behind the till tried and couldnt do it. Any body got any ideas what im doing wrong??? Thanks in advance

which valve is on the tank and which adapter did you get ?

where did the gas shoot out? from the tank or between the valve and adapter?

Sorry for hijacking the thread but i have been told i need a lpg adaptor in order to fill up the tank on a 1980 westy. Not much of a worry at the mo would would like to have one so i can fill up! What is it that i ask for (asuming its not just a lpg adaptor!!!) and who stocks them? As always thanks in advance!! Dingle

Hello

thanks not much internet connection atm

yes i have two gassure adapters, got to look into it more but i think there is a holed on the left has side (pine hole) behind the rubber sill.

Will have another look at it over the week end and let you all know.
