I think that a 15 inch TV would be the best bet. You could consider a 15'' LCD TV/DVD Combo. Freeview ready for the changeover???

I suggest you look at www.ebuyer.com but Tesco Direct may be a better option if something should go wrong. www.tesco.com :)

I would tend to agree. We have a 7" drop-down TV and seperate DVD player. Admittedly the screen is a bit on the small side.

How far away from screen can you comfortably still see screen with these smaller screens.

I could stick one under cabinet above bed but want to watch tv sometimes before going to bed

Personal preference I guess. Ours in mounted in the middle of the roof of the cab area directly above the walk-through - about 1" from the edge of the elevating roof (if you can understand that). Viewable from the rear seat OK IMHO.

Previous contestant had drilled some holes in the same area,

So I'm guessing a TV was installed before in much the same place

Trouble is then, its parked at kerbside at home and prey to
Chav low-lifes passing interest

Low-lifes are everywhere - even where we live. Little buggers snapped the aerial off and despite two two other replacements, neither fit like the original.
:(

Its chance we all have to take I guess to enjoy these extra luxuries.

Hang your TV onto a fixed bracket but ensure that the TV is removable. Store TV in the house when at home & out of sight when you are camping but not in your van. Treat TV like any other valuable & readlily stealable/sellable item. :)

As for security its all very well fitted so no chance of a quick smash and grab, oh and first they'd have to get past a clifford G5 alarm
