Intake/exhaust valve order

Post by Biggy »

Hi All,
I am in the middle of checking the valve clearances on my 1.6D CS and need to know which valves are intake or exhaust? This may seem obvious to someone more experienced, but I have searched the forums and Wiki, as well as the Bentley manual but to no avail.
I was hoping the gap sizes would give me an indication, but they are all between 0.18 and 0.28mm (cold)...some of them definitely need altering!!
Thanks for any help

This pic is from the german factory repair manual.
E is intake (Einlassventil)
A is exhaust (Auslassventil)

So Exhaust, Intake, Exhaust, Intake, Intake Exhaust, Intake Exhaust is the order from the timing gear.
