Soft Brakes

Post by SurfT25 »

Brakes work but soft and slow decline when held on.
Have looked at wiki and it suggests that master cylinder is faulty. ( do have a slight spread of fluid at back of cylinder)
Question here is
A. Buy new cylinder ( Brickwerks out of original)
B. Replace all the seals, including reservoir grommet.
( how hard is this job?)
Advice much appreciated and thanks in advance

The problem with re-sealing is that there will be rust pittings inside the cylinder which usually cannot be honed out.

As told, the aftermarket ones are fine. Especially the italian ones.

You can change it without bleeding the entire system, however worth to flush the wheel cylinders too.
