Flashing LED batten lights

Post by KOTSY »

Hi everyone. Fitted new batten led lights in my pit about 18 months ago.now when they have been on about 15 mins. They start to flash on and off.it gets a bit damp but not wet in the pit. I know I probably have to put new lights in , any ideas why this is happening? They are wired to the same fuse as the rest of the garage lights and they are okay . Any suggestions as which lights to go for. Any help appreciated. Cheers Pete.

I'd guess that like a lot of led lighting, they are over driven on voltage, are not cooled, and are poorly sealed against the elements. Frustrating that they all say "100,000hrs lifetime" or something! Never gonna happen.

The annode and cathode of every led is a mild steel alloy, which corrodes.

Sounds like another sorry case of just poor quality unfortunately
