Mystery copper pipe…

Post by kinger462 »

Greetings everyone,

I’m sure this is a stupid question so please excuse me… I’m new at this stuff… but does anyone know what this copper pipe is, near the top of the engine bay (and is there such a thing as a replacement)

Cheers everyone!

Probably coolant bleed pipe 025121045E. It's a plastic pipe but I've seen some rust stained ones that look like a copper pipe.

Hard to tell until we see a picture.

Silverbullet is referring to a cross-engine pipe as used with the early cooling systems.

Took me years to find one in usable condition.

Apologies for the lack of picture. Think that should be added now.

If you mean the one i have arrowed in red , it should be plastic , it’s a vac pipe and its is available from brickwerks …..
I would suggest replacing all of them and the rubber ends if that is what you have been left with by the hard of thinking
Also the pipe from the Headertank pressure cap need replacing with one piece that hasn’t got any leaks ( marked in blue) and the oil breather tower looks questionable ( marked in green )

The breather tower looks more than questionable! The top has been cut off and wired back down with a pin across it. Leaking oil all over the place.
