New Sills Needed!

Post by Machyde23 »

This is my first post, so no laughing!  I was poking around with a screwdriver (bad idea) in the area behind where the old kitchen units were (opposite the sliding door).  It went straight through in two places, and the seam has popped apart.  Have excavated as much as I can, and slapped on some rust converter for now.  I figure that some new panels will be required, but don't really know which ones or where best to get them from.  I can't weld but I know someone who can!

A H Schofield has a few types , the one that looks the best potion is 251809559 Correct sill and side panel, it doesnt say if it extends in to join with the floor like the original but if you have a welder he will make it work.

That’s only an outer sill it’s cover panel rather than a replacement

I don’t want to be the voice of doom (but if the cap fits, I’ll wear it!) but you’re as well to hear this now rather than from your welder once he’s started stripping it.

You may easily have much more rust than you can see. As noted above, how’s your inner sill? How are the front and rear ends of the sills where they interface with the jacking points and B and C pillars?

I had my drivers inner and outer sil along with rear arm bracket done with the floor section in 2019, was about 1.5k all in..

Check to make sure your window drains are clear, blocked drain holes was what blew out my sil and floor.

Buy the fridge panal. Use the outer lower sill . we make the inner closure that joins the outer 2 to the floor .nice easy way to do them benefits are all welding or most are plugs spots .the oters can be clamped with grips .horoizontal alinment is easy .i can stick some picks up if needed.
