Rock n Roll bed nightmare

Post by CoalMarx »

Does anyone have experience fitting these hinges from NLA? Me and my Dad have spent two days fighting with it so far but cannot get it right. My mistake was probably to not buy the £250 bits of ply and try to do a homebrew job. Anyway as it stands the seat is fine and totally stable, the kickboard is at absolute right angles as shown by the repeating square pattern on the floor but when i pull the bed out it hovers on the slidey door side and puts big leverage on the hinges, plus it is starting to crush the top of the kickboard on the left of the picture.

It looks like another weekend of graft ahead to try and bring the right hand side forward where it fixes to the chassis. I can't understand why it would not be automatically straight though.

I don't really know my question, just any advice or moral support would be great. This is a total pig to fitImage.

Not sure, but this might help? Your hinges look too far forwards to me. Mine also has the bracket supports that rest on the top of the upright board

Have you tried speaking to Adam at NLA. In my experience they've always been approachable and pretty helpful.

Thanks, the instructions were worth a shot but the NLA hinges wrap over the top of the bulkhead and dont have the support for the bed overhang (it feels like a hell of a big overhang). But theyve got me thinking the side piece by the slidey door must be causing the levitation. I'll do some measuring. I've approached NLA but they don't have instructions.

Look on page 2 and you will see what I did to support the bed. 2 of us have been sleeping on it for the last 7 weeks not a bother. Hope this helps

I've realised i don't have this bit so will need to order it. A lot of the info seems to be for the T2 bed whereas i have the actual t25 one. I can't find a picture anywhere if how that's supported. Instructions definitely needed!

I’m interested in those hinges from NLA, the only ones listed are for the Type2, are those the ones you are fitting and do they also bolt to the engine bulkhead or just the 18mm wooden side sections?

So there are hinges for the Type2 and different hinges for the T25. NLA also list Springs and Supports for the T25 R n R bed, Are those essential as I cannot see them listed for the Type 2 RnR bed?

The supports seem to be fitted so that they rest on the vertical board and support the overhang. Might have to ring NLA up and ask them. Thanks......
