Jump start device

Post by pleasestartnow »

Hi folks, I'm just wondering do any of ye have a self jump starting device. Something like https://www.halfords.ie/motoring/batter ... 77469.html.

Last year in France we ended up down a remote road and Big Blue wouldn't start. A saintly German just happened to be passing and pulled out something like the device above, it was the size of a large smartphone and I scoffed inwardly when he connected it up but by god Blue lurched to life. So before we head away this year I want to get something similar so I'm looking for recommendation.

Any suggestions are appreciated as usual

My neighbor has one of them. I have seen him use it to jumpstart his van.

I have had the slightly older version of this one for about 4 years now, it’s been charged twice, it’ll start our 3l diesel Kia with ease and the 2.1 wbx positively spins over . Charge it to full and forget about it till you need it , unlike the old lead acid ones from years ago which were always flat just when you needed them

BUTURE Jump Starter Power Pack, 1200A Peak 13800mAh, 12V Car Jump Starter (up to 7.0L Gas/5.5L Diesel Engines) Portable Car Battery Booster Jump Starter with Jump Leads, Quick Charge, LED Flashlight https://amzn.eu/d/3UvaEcN

Cheaper than halfrauds too

Hi
I have a Noco GB40 https://www.halfords.com/motoring/batte ... 21898.html, it is a really good piece of kit. Simple to use and small enough to tuck away for family emergencies! It isnt the cheapest available, but you get a good quality product.

This is mine, and it's brilliant. I can't believe how much oomph it has for something so compact. Also has good torch, and USB charging points. One of my favourite bits of kit, I don't travel without it.Image

I've got the GYS power pro 700. Absolutely fantastic bit of kit. It'll even start large tractors with 0v in the battery. The only thing they're not so good for is cranking for a while to diagnose a non start.
