...trying to find the name of the seal above the windscreen where the roof joins the front.

It might help to say what conversion your van is. Or put up a picture of it.

Absolutely agree, should have added that information.

It’s a 1984 t25 auto sleep with pop up roof.

Have you tried contacting auto sleeper themselves? They might be able to point you in the right direction.

It has a sort of metal spring along the length of it to make it grip well, poorly described!

Have a look at Seals Direct   https://www.sealsdirect.co.uk/  who have most of this gubbins.
