Hi everyone. I’m Enrico from Italy. I’ve found this forum very helpful in the past so I decided to register and post for this problem.
I’ve just bought a Westfalia T25 with a 1.9 dg engine. It has an automatic gearbox. Now the engine runs quite well when the gearbox is set to N but as soon as I put it to D or R aloe any other gear the rpm decrease, the van rattles and the engine stops. I tried to set a very high idle rpms but nothing changes.
Is it a gearbox issue?
Thanks a lot

Re: 1.9 DG automatic gearbox problem
I would say this is probably more down to a weak idle than an issue with the gearbox (providing it drives OK the rest of the time)
I'd start with getting the base ignition timing set properly, make sure the idle speed control module is plugged in and all the ignition stuff is good and that you have no air leaks etc.
