Hi all i`m putting in another set of upper control arm wishbone bushes, can i secure them with grub screws instead of welding them in,i think the welding melts the , Thanks.

I probably wouldn't advise it, the back and forth movement is exactly the type of thing that will try and fret that type of joint loose.

If you end up with some bushes that are a decent fit then you would probably be better off just using some loctite bearing retainer.
That said I've fitted quite a few pairs of these bushes and welded them in with no issues whatsoever - just a quick tack (on a fairly high power) then dunk it in a bucket of water before moving to the other bush. If yours fail prematurely it's probably just down to the fact that all replacement suspension components are complete and utter garbage nowadays!

ok, Thanks cobblers, i`ll put new ones in and take them to a welder guy near where i work
