AAZ Timing belt kit

Post by Al Housman »

I feel that my truck needs a new timing belt soon but two kits are listed, depending on engine number.
Does anyone know if there are major differences e.g. are the belts the same but tensioners different etc.
I have tried to find the engine number but it is very hard to get to and looking on an old aaz crankcase I've got it's likely to be pretty indecipherable anyway.
I can obviously get the timing covers off relatively easily so could compare what's on it with what's available.

Many thanks

Al

Think I may have answered my own question!!
Looks like the timing belts are identical and if I can ascertain which tensioner is on it I can order one of those.
Stand down everyone!!

Yes, exactly that. The early tensioner is a fixed type, and the later one is spring loaded.
