Top Tip don't throw out

Post by TONYT25T25 »

I need to replace a piece of fuel pipe between the mechanical pump and another section along with a plastic in line connector, but was unsure of the diameter external and internal of the pipe until I took it apart. Then realised i had an old pump so can use that for sizing.

I think I can beat you hands-down on that one.
When moving the van into a covered unit in 2019.
I thought wrongly that I would need later cooling and exhaust parts when retro-fitting a 1987 DJ engine to my 1983 van.

How wrong I was, and now I kick myself (a lot) at how much I threw away to the tip when having a sort out.
(Everything you see on the drive behind the van was tipped). :(

I defy anyone to beat that, unless they "threw away" a complete van.

1987 Electrics and a DJ engine.
Maybe one day I might get it finished

I was 'given' this old type 1 engine case and they are asking up to $1000 for them on The Samba.

Asking and getting are completely different of course; but in all honesty I've no idea how much it is actually worth.

When I bought my first AEF engine it came with a dual mass flywheel and clutch which I didn't need. The DMF sculled around in the garage for some months in my scrap pile, then I decided to put it on eBay, auction, no reserve, just to see. Sold for £85 plus carriage.
1.9D (AEF) pop-top. Aaaaahhhhh........that's better.

When I had a couple of Tomos mopeds I accumulated a fair bit of stuff. I had a moment one morning and sold the lot.
