Washer bottle leaking on top up

Post by gutmeg »

Hi there all, hope all well with you, and you are all keeping safe and looking forward to full use of your vans. I have a quick question please. I have topped up the screen fill bag under the rubber floor, and it leaks onto the ground. Have checked if the system and the screen wash still works and puts fluid on the screen. It all seems to work ok, so am wondering if there is an overflow pipe, have looked and cannot find anything on this. If someone could confirm or not l would appreciate and either sort it or leave it. Many Thanks for any replies.

They do overflow if you overfill.

Many thanks for the replies, however on other vehicles l have owned, the screenwash is full when the container overflows when full where you
top up in engine compartment . The fluid overflows underneath the van from the container. There is no way of telling if the container is full from the inside top up point. I was wondering if it has an overflow pipe. You cannot tell if the system is full or not from the inside top up point. Regards and thanks for the replies.

When the fluid reaches the top of the neck it’s full, the seal is at the bottom of the neck so it leaks before the fluid reaches the top

I had the same problem and it puzzled me,
my assumption was the bottle had cracked,
on dismantling it was fine.
A new seal cured it.

if you change the seal ..then when you fill up the water over flows inside and under your carpets
so dont fix the seal let it spill on the ground

If you dont replace the seal, the water evaporates and/or spills out on every bend and bump in the road...
