Front LH brake pipe T piece to Flexi

Post by Phil D »

After two years taking it apart I am now starting to put my van back together 1981 Westfalia Joker 2.0l CU Aircooled 4 speed LHD. I took a decision to replace everything rubber under the van which meant new brake hoses. I really struggled to break the joint at the front LH chassis and ended up cutting the perfectly good hose and the pipe to get a socket on it. Then had cut the pipe again to break the joint at the T piece.

My question is; Brickwerks are only selling a post 1986 front LH pipe T piece to flexi. This looks the same shape as mine which is about 500mm long Inc the unions. Checked with Michael and he is not sure they are the same, does anyone here know if there is a difference? Will try to add pictures when I have remembered how to do it!

From the catcar site,
The early flexi-hose is - 251611775A
M10x1 x 400mm

The later flexi hose is - 251611775B
M10x1 x 460mm

I hope that helps :)

Got the flexis, hope I got the right one, need a new hard pipe flexi to T piece. Judging by the sizes quoted one will be 60mm longer than the other?

Oddly one rigid pipe was listed at 500mm long.
The other was numbered but not listed.

Not the easiest site to navigate, but it gives the sort of information you are after.
