Blowing injector pipes CS T25
Hi, I had an injector pipe blow a couple of months ago and a mechanic said it could be due to vibration.
I got a new/second hand set of pipes and fitted them.
The new set had brackets/clip things holding them together so I thought the problem was due to not having clips in the first place....Then.... The other day I blew one of the new pipes...
Why I'm I blowing injector pipes?
That's about it, I just need to know why it is happening...Too much pressure? Vibration? Can't think of anything else..Can you?
The photo is the first one, the second one blew in a similar way.

Has to be vibrations I would think. Those pipes should easily stand the pressure. But you should be OK if clips are fitted.
Were the clips fitted in the previous installation of your second hand pipes? Or could the pipe have been nearly cracked through when you got it.
You could try watching the pipes while gradually increasing engine speed and see if they vibrate.

The pipes are under to much tension causing fatigue cracking , try bending the pipes so the fit without being under tension, there should be 3 clamps I think

Just thought I would add to this for the benefit of those with similar problems.
There is a screw on the back of the injector pump which controls pressure.
If you screw it in, it increases pressure and gives more power but more black smoke and if you screw it out it it reduces pressure and reduces power.
It is a reconditioned pump and a bit smokey, possibly the person who fitted it adjusted it for max power.
I am going to try unscrewing it and hope that does the trick.
Not fitted the new pipes yet but will do soon, then have a screw.

Unless you know what you’re doing I wouldn’t touch that, you’re just guessing, you’ll cause more problems

I will measure its current position so I can re set it to the same setting.
I think it is what is causing the problem.
It starts to rattle at anything above 40 mph, if I go faster it blows a pipe.
I am hoping it will be smoother at over 40 mph.
I will adjust the tick over too.

Unless you’re fairly experienced with diesel, pumps injection etc I would say you will just make things worse , take it to a diesel specialist and have it looked over

I slackened the screw until it would not rev but ticked over.
Obviously that was too much.
I screwed it back in until I could rev it ok.
Just went for a test drive (after clutch prob) and it was very poor on hills but at top speed it was much smoother, still slow but smoother.
I am going to screw it in a quarter turn or so and see if I can get a bit more power for hills but not as far as it was.
Will update with results in a bit.

I screwed it back in until I could rev it ok.

The maximum pressure in the pipes is controlled by the pressure setting of the injectors, not the injection pump. Any adjustment at the pump may alter the quantity of fuel injected, but not the pressure.
Just me being pedantic again.

I screwed it in half a turn and it now pulls well up hills and runs better at 50 mph.
Before it sounded like it was not right at over 40 mph and blew the injector pipes.
I will perhaps get the injectors serviced by a specialist or get new ones ...see what that does.

Conclusion...
There was a missing bolt which should have been holding the injector pump on at the front of the of the pump (front as in bit nearest windscreen).
The pump was vibrating which caused the prob.
Also I learned to bend longer pipes instead of buying new ones.
With the screw positioned so as to slow the tick over I had starting difficulty but I've put it back and it seems OK.
That's all folks.
