AAZ Coolant Tank
Behind my number plate flap is what looks like a coolant expansion tank. It's bone dry and has no cap on it and there's a 2nd tank in the engine bay. Is this likely to be have been left in situ when the engine was swapped? Cheers

Re: AAZ Coolant Tank
That should be full to the mark and connected to the other tank via the cap and a length of hose

A Cap like this one? So a length of pipe between the pipe connection on this one to the identical connection on the other cap?

On my first picture, the length of hose visible on the right side of the tank goes to the cap on the other tank.
Is that not right?

Re: AAZ Coolant Tank
Yes the other header tank is full. So should I top up the tank behind the number plate with coolant? And do I need a solid cap on the tank behind number plate? Apologies for all the questions!

Re: AAZ Coolant Tank
The system works by sending the coolant to the rear tank when it gets hot and expands, then when the engine cools it gets sucked back to the tank with the blue cap so always kept full ,so put coolant in the rear tank up to the minimum mark when cold and fill the one with the blue cap to full, think the pipe from the blue cap goes through the cap to the bottom of the rear tank
