How much gasoline is there in the carburetor's float chamber?

Big lumps of metals and spanners. Including servicing and fluids.

How much gasoline is there in the carburetor's float chamber?

Post by Erik2 »

Hi.
How much gasoline(in milliliters)is there in the carburetor's float chamber,
when it is full?(the needle shuts off the flow to the bowl).
I refer to the 2E3 PIERBURG carburetor?
Thanks.

Thanks Mocki.
One more thing that somehow is related to the same subject:
When the chamber is full, while the needle shut-off the flow of the gasoline into the float chamber,i understand that the gasoline(which is pushed by the mechanical fuel pump)is flowing now through the fuel return hose to the tank, until the needle will open again, right?
Is the gasoline flowing through the fuel return hose, only when the
needle is shutting-off the flow to the float chamber or the gasoline can flow(in a normal operation)through the fuel return hose also at the same time that the gasoline flows into the float chamber?

To be honest i am not sure , I’m pretty sure the return line is always in use unless you are flat out using as much fuel as the pump can supply , but mostly when in the normal rev range the pump supplies more than the carb needs so goes down the return line
