1 - the number ofvacuum lines to the distributor.
Digijet has two vacuum pipes, digifant does not.
2 - the part number on the ECU in the cavity to the left of the engine bay.
The ecu will also say either digijet or digifant on it.
3 - digifant "should" have a lambda probe on the left exhaust bank.
I suppose it all depends on what the previous owner had as a starting point, and what they have changed along the way.

1983 Tin Top with a poorly DF and 4 speed DT box.
1987 Electrics and a DJ engine.
Maybe one day I might get it finished

OK thanks Robsey, wouldn't be suprised if it hasn't been bastardized over the years. I checked ECU but couldn't see anything but will look again. Can't see anything coming off exhaust. Fact that I have no vacuums would suggest it's a digifant then.
Re: 2.1 DJ Wont start when hot and possible fuel issue
So having spent time going over pipes, and wiring cleaning all earth's and connectors it has subsequently started behaving itself. Throttle now seems much better and doesn't appear to have issue as it warms. Took it out and all seemed well, so hopefully that has resolved the issue. Thanks for help those of you that pointed out the basics that I have neglected to pay attention to, lesson learnt.
