T25 Brake Vacuum Unit - off set connection

Post by GeorgeR »

Hi All,
I'm new to the forum....so Hello!

I'm rebuilding a JX and managed to snap the brake vacuum pump connection. I brought a repair kit but the one on the engine has a slightly off set air connection and a different bolt layout (I haven't managed to attach pictures but I have them).

From an internet search it looks like all the repair kits are the same. Does anyone know if there are different repair kits or do i have to bite the bullet and change the whole unit?

Cheers

One of the JPGroup rebuild kits have the correct lid. Unfortunately I do not remember which one.

Or you can braze in a braided spigot and use an inline check valve

Thanks for the info, ill do some digging.
With a bit of drilling i may be able to make the new cover fit as a temporary measure, it only has to seal round the o-ring afterall.

Hi All,
Just in case it helps someone out in the future, i made the new part fit by drilling one new hole and elongating one of the other. As long as you have a continuous seal around the o-ring, all seams to be good.  £18 for the new top verses £180 for a complete pump.
