t25 pop top gas hob

Post by Siobhan »

Just found out today after caravan company checked my van that there is a gas leak from the hob. It's not fixable as someone has screwed a nut too tight and make the pipe like a screw driver. I now need to replace the hob. The caravan guy is going to look for one but not sure he'll find one with right measurements. Any one got any ideas? Has anyone fitted a new hob to an old van?

Hi Siobhan,
A photo always helps. I know it is not as easy for you to post photos. So send it to me via Whatsapp if you wish and l will post for you.
You need to list dimensions to help.
Lastly, is there any reason why the pipe cant be replaced?

Hi Stuart I am getting someone to send me them by email so here they are!!ImageImage

I have sourced one on Ebay SMEV Dometic 8022 but the measurements are 480 x 80 x 370 and mine measures 470 x 80 x 390 so mine is smaller width wise and longer length wise and not sure it will work. It's also really expensive around £250. The caravan service guy is looking out this week but I am wondering if it would be better to find an old one but that may not be possible.

It seems that someone has tightened up the pipe and the guy told me it's not replaceable. He showed me it and it looks like the integrated pipe coming from the hob so I could see what he was saying.
