Looks like gold paint to me, certainly isn't the texture of fibreglass.

Hello. So I've checked it out today and the white paint is definitely proud of the yellow underneath. I can scrape bits of the white off with my nail but it feels like a normal paint (not sure how gel coat would feel)

I cant scrape the yellow at all (I'm sure I could with a knife but that would only leave a mark) it feels like plastic with a slight roughness/patterned feel to it.

It doesn't feel like an undercoat so my guess would be smooth fibreglass? Or whatever they make hight tops out of.

Any advice for a method of repair?

Thanks in advance

Not fibreglass, risking repeating myself!

Hi, what are high tops made of? And if it isn't the base material what is it? It's not paint, it's plastic to touch. I'm stumped. Also any advice to rectify

I won't reference fibreglass again. Promise

Thanks

Gel coat is hard to the touch with a fingernail. That isn't a normal fibreglass finish.
Looks more like rollered metallic paint to me. You can see where the paint hasn't got into the corners which supports roller painting view.

OK thanks. So I could touch it up potentially as a patch up job. Sand the area, blend the area painting it?

It will take a lot of careful sanding to feather all the edges of the white so that it is unnoticeable after re-painting the white.

What about sanding the entire high top and repainting?

Even harder than just feathering all the edges of the white, whatever you do will take a lot of effort if you want it to look reasonable.
