Can anyone identify this engine please?
Hello! I’m new here and have read through loads of threads full of useful information but haven’t found my answer yet. I recently bought an H-reg T25 1.9 Diesel, which has been converted at some point from a 1.9 Petrol. The pile of receipts that came with included such minutiae as replacement windscreen wipers, but no record of the engine change and, of course, it still shows as petrol at the DVLA! My problem is that I need a replacement clutch but I need the engine code so I can order the correct parts. Armed with determination and a toothbrush I’ve spent hours looking in all the places suggested on the forum but still can’t find it. I understand it should be 2 letters and six digits. I’ve found ‘1.9 D/TD’ stamped on the bottom of the engine, a circular stamp with ‘WW0’ underneath, and a 10-digit cast number on the side, which Google tells me is the part number for a cylinder head for a VW 1.9 Diesel but the engine code eludes me still. I’d appreciate any help. Thank you!

Have you compared the engine number etc with the log book and does the log book reflect a petrol or diesel engine.

Thank you! If it is, where would I find the engine code?

Re: Can anyone identify this engine please?
the part number is a casting number which can't readily be identified and may be common to multiple engines, the engine number and code are stamped on a flat area on the block somewhere below number 3 cylinder injector and awkward to find and get de-rusted and readable, but David is probably right something like a 1X or ABL
if you can find the part number on the pump 028 130 107 A is 1X, ABL ends 110BX, 115L or LX

Re: Can anyone identify this engine please?
Thanks so much for all the insights here. So, going from the above it could be an ABL, a 1Y or a 1X engine. Do these engines share the same clutch would you know? It's a new clutch I need and want to make sure I order the right kit. Thanks again!

It’s probably not an ABL as they’re turbo diesel , not sure if clutches are the same , got a local gsf?

Re: Can anyone identify this engine please?
It looks like the van has had a whole T3 diesel setup transferred into it, and upgraded to a 1.9 n/a lump in the process, in which case it's most likely the standard T3 diesel clutch, regardless of which engine has replaced the standard KY or CS from the donor van.

Thanks for your insight here. Leading on ... any idea where I'd be able to source 'a standard T3 diesel clutch'? I contacted a number of online suppliers yesterday ('live chat') but, sadly, am no further forward. They all asked for the engine code which, try as I have, I just can't find. I have gone over the block (and the alternator support) with a fine tooth comb (well, a toothbrush coated in Cif actually resulting in a lot of oily rags!

Thanks, no, I'm up in Fife (Scotland) but I see GSF have a live chat so I'll contact them this morning - CHEERS!
