Hole in the floor
There’s a pool of water under the mat on passenger side. And there’s a small round hole in the floor! I haven’t driven the van for weeks but could the water have come up through this hole? Why is there a hole here anyway?

Re: Hole in the floor
It normally comes through from the windscreen and drips down, post a couple of pictures.

Re: Hole in the floor
That's a drain hole, should have a bung in it. Waters probably coming through from your windscreen

Re: Hole in the floor
Unsure if that is a drain hole with the grommet missing and has rusted over time, don't think I have one there in my van. Looks as if water has settled in that dip, best to find the source of the leak and repair the hole. Remove the mats and looks for dampness above the hole towards the windscreen, also worth checking the outside of the windscreen in any case for bubbling near the seals. Re: Hole in the floor
Thank you both. Someone has suggested talcum powder for finding leaks as it leaves a trail. Have you ever tried that?

No, but can see the logic as it would leave a trail, may also be worth pealing back the rubber cover over the wheel arch visible in your images to check for any rust there, and also the rubber foot mat in the step. Have a look both above and below the areas.

Re: Hole in the floor
Ah that’s true. I’ve bought myself an inspection torch, I’ll have a look under everything. Cheers
Can you buy a ‘bung’ then for the draining hole?

Re: Hole in the floor
Could be coming from a leaking windsreen, the rubber seals need sealant to get a leak free fit.

Re: Hole in the floor
It maybe worth buying a selection of bungs and grommets on ebay, they only cost about under a tenner for a large selection. You will find as you look around the vehicle there are some more missing/deteriorated as they are used for piping and wiring protection conduits between the vehicle and some may have even been covered over with repairs. Your's needs to be cleaned up and rustproofed and if needed repairing with a bit of fibre glass on top and repair paste underneath before cutting/drilling a new hole if you need to or just leave it sealed up. Either way it is worth checking underneath the mat on both sides frequently and mopping up any water. Of course the ultimate solution is to find out where the leak is and treat it.

Re: Hole in the floor
I just cleaned mine up and put a large washer and short nut and bolt on, followed by sealant.
