temp change after cam beltl change

Post by sivan »

Hi,
Had cambelt changed on van along with water pump, temperature gauge now reading just above halfway but gauge before always just below halfway .Took back to garage and some steam at front of van when stopped  so mechanic said he would have another look at it, says he has checked levels, left running until fan kicks in ,heater works as should ,and been for a drive .Could this be anything to do with belt/waterpump maybe ,or is the new normal temperature ? 1.9d 1Y
TIA

Steam at front of van? The engine is in the back with the cambelt and waterpump.

Radiators at the front !. Did wonder if it was just steam  caused bt wet radiator as it was snowing/raining heavily at the time, but never seen that before and temp gauge is defo higher than normal
