Hi @spanishfly not sure what to suggest here I’m afraid. Has your van got anything like the headlight relay upgrade? In mine that is wired direct the batter with its own in line fuses. Just being systematic seems the only way with these electrical gremlins.

Re my issues a replacement battery has resolved things and I’ve done some delving into the carb to identify the cold starting issue that let to the battery being overworked this winter. Basically the little plastic lever on the end of the shaft that controls the choke flap had broken. An Old broken pierburg sourced (but with that bit good) from Dan Munday’s Bus Stop in Devon and I’m in the process of making one good one out of two broken ones.

Thanks to all for advice here, and to Graham at Raw Speed in Plymouth as well as Dan for the old carb. Been v interesting taking it apart systematically.
