Antifreeze G11

Post by Stan3 »

Hi….I have a KY 1.7D, the handbook specifies G11 antifreeze…guessing it’s better to stick with this as opposed to more recent developments eg G13?

I can’t be 100% sure it’s G11 in there but it is a blue green colour.

Had a wee leak from a midway rubber/steel pipe connection yesterday…thought something was up when the temp light starte§d flashing and the needle started to rise…..couple of stops on way home to cool things down, lucky it wasn’t that far!!

Thanks
Phil

Stick with whats in there if its a top up, other types dont mix well, make sure its bled correctly before a long journey.

Original VW G13 can be mixed with the original VW G11.
Original VW G12++ can be mixed with the original VW G11.
Original VW G12+ can be mixed with the original VW G11.
If you will mix G12 or any other coolant with G11, problems may arise.
