CJH used to make those carb parts on here.

3D printed I think. I did buy some as my spare carb has that cam broken.

E D I T: I think there is another plastic cam inside that controls choke flap you mentioned was stuck open?

thanks Smiffo, good to know about the printed part. TBH the whole carb needs a good refurb, ordered a recon unit on exchange from Bromyard now as I'm sure other parts will be worn too :ok

Well the old girl won best T25 at the local show Alive & V-Dubbin last weekend. It was a bit of a last minute thing as we needed to pop to the bodyshop and borrow the carb from my friend's Jubilee in order to get her running  Bromyard carb should be here next week if it cools down enough to test it  well chuffed, the judges loved the originality....

Well I can 100% recommend John from BromyardVW, the carb arrived and looks excellent......there was a slight delay on delivery as it was too hot to test

All installed, once temp was reached and the fan came on a couple of times I went for a drive.....it was like a different van, pulls well through all the gears and idles as it should, I have not changed any of the carb settings.

Checked the compression yesterday and all within spec and close together, next job is just a check of tappets and timing

Looking nice and fresh!

I sometimes wonder if we should have a 'recommended' section on here. A list of vendors, suppliers and workshops that people recommend, easy to spot at the top toolbar.

I have a spare few weeks before the Jubilee comes back from the paint shop so I decided to get started on the Doka.

A few new additions....15" Mefros, blasted, zinc sprayed and powder coated factory grey ready to be fitted with Yokohama Geolander AT tyres, not aggressive but a bit more interesting than the standard road tyres.

Image

Top hats are gone on my arms so I treated the old girl....

Image

Van is now up on four stands so I can be working on the front and back to save time waiting on parts to arrive or return from the blasters. A small tool we made up to balance the front stands

99% stripped down and it fought me all the way, looks like all the original joints and bushes......

Spent a long day cleaning underseal off bits & bobs before dropping it at the blasters last week. Most items getting blasted, zinc sprayed and resprayed, smaller items will be blasted and plated. I am trying to reuse as many of the original components as possible. Any original bolts and fixings that are decent will be plated.

Chipping away at the jobs, this thread should be called 'The Underseal Remover' cleaning the parts before refitting is taking a lot of time. We are moving house in the not too distant future once I'm set up again I plan to get a roll over jig and get the underneath 'dry ice' blasted to remove all the horrible underseal......

Before ordering a full gear linkage kit I stripped and assessed the state of things (once I removed the underseal!) In the end the only parts I replaced were both flanges at the box end, both linkage bushes, u-joint O rings and the relay lever, new boots, everything else was in good working order
