The Green Doka Machine

Post by irishkeet »

Introducing my new 1985 Doka which arrived a couple of weeks ago.......big thanks to Weem Machine for stopping by to view it with me 💚

It originally came over from Sweden. From new it went straight to a foundry business where it was used around the plant and to deliver parts into town for 20 years, hence the original canopy and the loadbed protection.

It was then bought by a foundry worker who had it for 13 years and the person I bought it from imported it into the UK in 2020. I'm the 4th owner. Its very original and untouched, original gearbox and engine with 114,000 Km (just over 70,000 miles), and lots of paperwork, not original paint unfortunately but it even has the original radio blanking plate  Also comes with its original loadbed canopy.

I'm looking forward to using it and giving it a good bit of TLC, the plan is to keep it as original as possible. Im starting this thread to keep track of the project

A few photos of the old girl.....

Sir, if I am not mistaken, I spot 3 other T25/T3s in these pics alone.
You may have an 'addiction'

P.S. Very nice addition. I do like a tidy Doka.

a few jobs now completed....

fuel lines all done, they weren't terrible but they were old.
Fresh oil and filters done too and replaced the blue oil pressure switch
Some crusty engine wiring repairs done and a new header tank cap
Voltage regulator, no more flickering lights

Its booked or its MOT next month as it runs out in December, it passed its last MOT with these shocks on, luckily I still had the old shocks from the Syncro so there on for now.

Thankfully the underside is all stock and original so the plan is to strip and renew everything in the Spring, I also need to speak to a bodyshop as it need a little TLC here and there.....

Yep fitted from factory, not tested it yet, I think its disconnected at the battery (I've not chased cables as yet) but it comes with this very old analogue controller

Rick would it be difficult to upgrade this?

When I was buying the Doka (and once we agreed a price) the seller was happy to remove some of the loadbed protection so I could be sure it wasn't a rusty heap underneath......I think this bed was fitted very soon after it left the factory and arrived at the Swedish foundry, where is was a works vehicle for the next 20 years.....I have spent the past week removing and cleaning the years of gunk, pretty happy so far.....

I just need to figure out the best way to fill the holes, I don't want to weld them as I cant reach under all of them to treat the metal, I'm thinking some sort of epoxy filler and then paint, not sure yet....I have ordered some rubber bungs for now.

For the leftover bolt holes, how about just getting some HD green adhesive vinyl circles done, I did just that on my Doka and they are still there 5 yrs on waiting for my permanent solution 😂
