Had one for a few years. Very nice in stop start city traffic and smooth. Not good for the MPG, a bit down on power and they're all getting old now and the seals are hardening. Expensive to repair

Hi,
Had an auto (Autosleeper) for about 17yrs now. Run on lpg 99% of the time. Fuel consumption and power a little down but never had a problem. Has climbed some pretty steep hills with no difficulty.
Repairers, good ones, are around, as are the cowboys as there is a limited amount you can do. Did read somewhere that the auto box is/was the best and toughest one that VW produced. Would not change mine.

Thirsty. Owner manual states 18mpg for the 2.1L petrol... I've visited every petrol from here to Cornwall!
