Misfire or spitting

Long time since I have been on, For thos of an Aircooled persuasion.

I have a problem with a loss of power/misfire on my stock CU engine, running twin Dell 36's.

Problem started a while back with a slight misfire/spitting on hard acceleration, sometimes just went away but came back with loss of power, seemed to be when under load or accelerating or going up hill, all a bit sporadic. Mainly when warm or hot.

Have gone through ignition system, cleaned up distributor cap and coil lead connections, seemed to ease starting and smoother, but misfire/spitting now more often, finally thought tappet adjust to get rid of rattle on start and check timing to correct ATDC.

Result sort of - Starting much better, smoothe, quieter, more acceleration BUT the misfire/spitting is much more noticeable, now pretty much all the time when accelerating, distinct loss of power then lay off the throttle runs OK.
Problem is that jsut starting and revving without moving it will not misfire or spit -

Next thought is a plug lead fault or new plugs - doesn't seem like fuel problem -

Any advice as getting well peed off

Check your coil or rip out all the old ignition system and fit a Powerspark kit

You might want to check fot "Dellorto drip"
A bit of googling would be better than me explaining it.

"Dellorto drip" Sounds like a medical condition.

A few thoughts:
Fuel starvation, accelerator pump issue, float levels set too low.
Vacuum advance on the distributor punctured.
Ignition leads breaking down (spark plug caps arcing to the cylinder head)

Thanks for ideas going for new plugs coil swapped out, had Dell drip and cured it, so check the leads next with a spare set, then go back to carb
