Engine and Chassis Identification

Post by bestonestaken »

Is there anywhere that I can use my engine number or chassis number to confirm exactly which engine or body type I have?

You could look here for the engine code http://vwt3.com/t3-tech/t3-data/engine-data/

Here for the date built http://vwt3.com/t3-tech/t3-data/t3-manufacture-dates/

and here for the "M" codes http://vwt3.com/t3-tech/t3-data/vw-t3-m ... ions-list/(if you have the original sticker or service book with the list of the "three" letter/number combinations)

Failing that post up your engine number (Letters only) and we can tell yoy what you have.....probably :run

I have just found Brickwerks wonderful chassis analyser, I thought it was lost ..because my bookmarked page was out of date.

You simply input your chassis number and by magic you get a comprehensive list of when, where and which parts your bus left the factory with and what you need to look out for when getting replacement parts specifically tailored to your bus/van
