Solution to wet awning syndrome

Leaving a wet camp site on the Isle of Harris earlier in the summer, we packed the awning away (Khyam Motordome) wet inside it's awning bag, inside a supposedly waterproof bag and on the mattress at the rear of the van. Got to camp on Skye, only to find, would you believe, water all over and in the mattress! Four hours of hair dryer and propex heater treatment, we finally got it dry enough to sleep on.
So - solution. Got hold of a huge Ducksback bag from Ebay (£25) and now travel with the awning inside the bag, strapped to the bike carrier.
The bag keeps it dry during journeys and no more need to carry the awning in the van, wet or dry.
Also solves the problem of what to do with the bloody thing when it's not being used for an overnight stop. (we've previously tried to stick it under the front of the van, or, more often than not, friendly camp site people
agree to store indoors)
Only drawback is not being able to carry bikes (very rarely need to anyway) and possible security
Issues when the van is parked up and the awning bag is on full view.
However, got to say that I've often secretly wished someone would nick it anyway! Bit of a mixed blessing, especially in Outer Hebrides gales!

Cheers for the heads up.
Dorset last week with a Khyam Motordome ( as we had our daughter and her partner with us) did not have the bag, the Motordome got absolutely drenched, but remember what you said so was put the tent on the floor for the trip home.
purchased the large and cable bags.
Thought the prices we OK.
