new clutch master cylinder leak

Post by zedd »

as above iv'e fitted new clutch m cyl & noticed a leak which i think is coming from where the hose from reservoir joins the m cyl , the hose is only pushed on , the van i got the pedal assy off (as mine was cable clutch before ) did 't have a clip on the hose , should it have one if so what type as the bit the hose goes on to is only plastic & doesn't look that strong :?:

If I remember correctly ours was just push on BUT a correctly sized jubilee clip just nipped up should be fine.

turns out it was leaking around the rubber seal in the m cyl which the plastic pipe pushes in to , i still have the old m cyl so swapped the rubbers over which sorted the problem ! :)
