Trailing arm mounts pictures of how they are fixed

Post by MacColl »

Hello,

I'm new to the forum from Scotland and recently bought an 81 T3. I am aware that the trailing arms need replaced a likely Ebay purchase. The rear outer trailing arm mounts will also need replaced and I am aware I can purchase these at Brickwerks.

I would like to see pictures of how these mounts attach. I am going to examine the van but just need to see picture with good mounts and even mounts removed. To see the area in good metal. Has anyone tackled this nightmare job. I will post pictures myself once I have a good look.

I'll add that I have done some Google searches and even found someone doing this work on U Tube.

Managed to resize these pics

Nearside.. bit concerned that the mount is damaged and could be out of alignment?

Doeasn't look good above that area..

Offside.. this mount also looks damaged :(

I hope once I figure out how to create a jig on each side I can get the replacement mounts back into the correct position!
