Temp gauge fail

Post by kevtherev »

Started up, gauge briefly burst into life then stopped.
Ok so I checked the failure, and earthed the sender wire (metal thermostat housing) with no effect on the gauge.
What do I look for now?
Thanks.

If the fuel gauge doesn't work then it's the power supply. If it does, check the temp sender connection on the engine.

Turned out to be a wiring issue.
Old wire in a hot place... it had crumbled away
replace with new copper
